Deckbuilder: Drafting You Can Check Against Your Sources

A drafting table seen from above, covered with hand-sketched slide layouts on paper, a wooden ruler, pencils, an open laptop showing a slide editor, and two plain clothbound books with teal ribbon bookmarks.

The Problem

Language models draft quickly, but the drafts are hard to trust. They state things the sources never said, ignore instructions such as slide counts, and often need confidential material sent to an outside service. The time saved drafting is lost again checking.

A tired reviewer hunches over a desk with a magnifying glass, checking a single page, beside a towering, leaning stack of draft slides that spills pages onto the floor. A clock on the wall suggests the time slipping away.

What We Built

One self-contained program, with a desktop app and a command line, that drafts slide decks and long-form documents and writes native PowerPoint, Word, and other files. Deckbuilder works with cloud models or with models running entirely on your own computer.

A desktop computer on a wooden workbench shows a slide with a rising bar chart. In front of it sit a keyboard, a stack of finished printed slides, and a bound document, with a window letting in daylight behind.

Grounded in the Sources

  • Each claim is checked against the sources you supply and shown beside verified quotes.
  • A check that cannot run stays uncertain and never counts as passing.
  • Every automatic change marks a slide for a person to review.
A brass balance scale weighs a single printed slide on one pan against a stack of source documents on the other. Teal threads run from highlighted lines in the documents to the slide, showing each claim weighed against its evidence.

Instructions Enforced in Code

Slide counts, list lengths, and length budgets are enforced by Deckbuilder, not left to the model. If a plan does not match the slide count you asked for, the run stops instead of producing the wrong deck.

A brass and teal machine with large interlocking gears and a small dial on top turns out a row of identical blank slide frames that travel in perfect order along a conveyor belt.

Accessible by Design

  • 18 themes, every one checked for WCAG color contrast.
  • An interface in seven languages.
  • Text size, high contrast, reduced motion, and a reading view in the desktop app.
A large unbranded monitor shows a slide made of bold, high-contrast shapes in teal, black, and cream. A magnifying glass leans against the monitor on one side and a desk globe stands on the other, suggesting readable text and many languages.

The same principles run through our ASI work: answers grounded in your sources, honest reporting of uncertainty, and human review where judgment matters.
